I was born and raised in Paducah, Kentucky and earned music degrees from University of Alabama and Michigan State University.  After a five-month engagement in Japan, I moved to Nashville to further pursue my career.

I currently live just south of Nashville in Franklin TN with my wife, clarinetist Emily Bowland and our two children.
